my proposals for some shorter races:
- northwest passage (east to west or west to east)
- Boston to Vancouver (including northwest passage)
- TRANSPAC (L.A. to Honolulu) or double-TRANSPAC (L.A. - Honolulu-L.A.)
- whale migration route: from Alaska to Baja California or vice versa
- the baltic sea circle: several sprint legs around the Baltic sea
- timed race: round Australia - Sydney to Sydney
one general plea: reduce the number of gates to allow a freer choice of routes and do not use hidden gates
