BruderB
Hej Sailors, I sail pretty much on the theoretical line and am good 200 nm ahead of the frigate. My position is 22245. A buddy is sailing almost on the same longitude about 30 nm south of me and is on position 15436. Mmmhh, I can just about believe that. Another mate 400 nm west and 130 nm south of me, is sticking to the ice edge at 2 kts and is supposed to be in place 1674. That can't be right!!?? fair winds, Boris

La ligne noire est plus petite que la ligne rouge, donc le bateau noir est devant le bateau rouge dans le classement. Il aurait fallu mettre des bouées intermédiaires sur l'océan pour mieux paramétrer le classement. Hi, The classification is made in relation to the Cape Horn buoy in a straight line. The black line is smaller than the red line, so the black boat is ahead of the red boat in the leaderboard. It would have been necessary to put intermediate buoys on the ocean to better configure the classification.
Icepearl
Hej Boris and all, I have complained to VR contact several days ago and have received the similar explanation The situation is ridiculous when the boat being 800 miles has better ranking - only due to fact, that she is farther south. Changing course by 15 degrees starboard has won me 10 000 places overnight! Simple criterium of longitude would be much, much more accurate. Even without the buoys it would be possible to introduce the formula, calculating the length of rhumb line to Itajai for each boat, like it is calculated for great circle. Salient points of exclusion zone could be used. From present experience I suppode we have to wait to final line. Strong winds! Icepearl
Hello again, Who will tell me which boat is Number One at the moment. For sure not the first on the list! Icepearl
Icepearl
VR do not want to admit that ranking system is seriously faulty. They like what they do - and they do what they like. Fair winds to everyone - and specially to present leader at exclusion zone. Icepearl
Howling Snail
Wow, this ranking system is exceptionally shit... I already knew it was bad from seeing the ranking of myself compared to other people around me. As a beginning player you at first think that maybe they calculate how fast everyone will reach the finish or next buoy based on the current weather forecast or whatever, because the rankings swing so violently. But after a while you notice that this definetly isn't the case. Some people more than 200Nm behind me were more than 15k ranking ahead of me... And only because they were a tiny bit further south. I truly couldn't have imagined the ranking system being this shit. How could they have thought that this would've been a good idea for a ranking system in the first place? A system that completely ignores exclusions zones and even ignores the fact that you can't sail across land... It would be terribly easy to either use latitude or longtitude as a way to rank people (based on wether it is a east-west or north-south type of race. Or they could just use the buoys that are already in the game to determine the ranking, that would already be a hell of a lot better than this ridiculous system they currently have. Or even better, they could just place a marker along the "supposed ideal line" every so often to make up the ranking.

Lol The middle french VR gamer don't care about this ..... The middle french gamer don't want too much another gamer from the World .... It ist not good for the ranking 😁
DOMOD
Some sailors who have just joined the race have started in front of my bow because the frigate was also in front my bow but slightly to my starboard. It is unsatisfactory for someone who has struggled for several days in the race.😕
DOMOD
In a short time I achieved 5000 positions. Ranking is becoming normal. 🤪
