and of course just in time for when we need it, the NOAA satellite data feed has gone down. Not sure how long this outage will last, could well go into the next 24-48 hours though.

I've created a web page constantly updating high resolution visible, infrared, and water vapour satellite imagery. It should cover the full course by providing three separate high resolution areas.
This adds greatly to the realism of the regatta as you can see what the sky looks like!

Can anyone confirm what is being used by the simulation to calculate the ship speed? I'm assuming they're using some meteo model, perhaps a mix of several, with some random variability added?
- Wind: GFS? ICON? ECMWF?
- Ocean currents?
- Waves?
