hello, what would be the best choice of downwind angle on IMOCAs and why? I usually choose the angle with the best VMG, according to the polaires, but I see most other competitors going 10 or 15 degrees higher. that is faster, but the VMG is not so good. what am I doing wrong? another topic, best strategy to sail round the south atlantic high in this leg? I cant find forecast weather that goes more than 7 days.
