Calculation of points for inter-team ranking

I have found that the top 10 sailors for a team count for the inter-team rankings.  I am curious as to how those 10 finishes combine to get to the points listed for the team.   I am also curious as to how the inter-team rankings are combined to create the Hall of Fame ranking.  Does anyone know the calculations for these?

Hi,

The points for the team is the average of the credits earned by the first 10 players of the team on the race.

Formula for the credits = 1600 * (7 - Race Category) / (Rank ^ 0,25)

Those points are then simply added to the global count of the team for the HOF

Continue shortly on the same topic... Top teams are obviously getting their rankings already from the very start of the race. But like our team Vallis Gratiae Navigare, even if we are 16 players now in the NordStream Race 2, we are not yet getting our team standings. Do we need to wait until the finish line, or Mark 1 rounded, or somewhere randomly during the race when there is enough difference between the boats and teams?

We are now first time more than 10 in the race, so very eager to follow our standings 🙂

Hi,

The most probable reason for that is the new rule which is implemented since March, 1st. For multi stages races, the list of the team members which will be used for the ranking of all the stages is frozen with the one at the middle of the first stage, so for the Nord Stream, around March, 15th. So if your team have hire new members after March, 15th, they cannot contribute to the minimum required of 10 team members for the inter-team ranking.
Not 100% sure, but that's a plausible explanation anyway.
