nelsanus Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Hello ! I have heard in a video that we can spot the strength of wind by looking for the darker areas on sea. Is it real ? I am not able to see disparities between zones for now. Thanks Quote
Aeolus Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Yes, this is true. As you say the darker the water, the more wind. Sometimes the differences are just too small to notice. That's why you don't see differences in color all the time. Quote

Haven't noticed it before, I've seen what seem to be white streams which i thought indicated gusts too? Quote
Sailor_Barbie Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 As an inland sailor, I'm used to very big differences in the patches on the water. I'm still trying to train my eyes in VR. Quote
SESCA Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 @Sailor_Barbie The darker patches can only be seen in 2D view. Look at the the circle in the top left of the screen. Click on the circle to expand to full screen. Quote
